Important Chiropractic Information

Chiropractic is a healing art  emphasizing the recuperative power of your body, without the use of drugs and surgery. It insures your body's nervous system works at it's best.

Chiropractic focuses on alignment of the body so all parts are moving freely, without pain. By allowing freedom, especially in the spine and removing interference, the body can and wants to heal itself.

Chiropractors systematically and specifically mobilize joints, and soft tissue to restore full motion and allow correct nerve to conduct their work. Nerves send messages to and from every system in the body. Nerves also give us pain signals altering us when something is wrong. By allowing the spine to move more freely, taking the pressure off nerves, all systems work as they were designed.

Chiropractors work to improve postural alignment. Poor posture and bad postural habits are by far the single most probable reason we experience back pain. Add an injury to poor posture and the injury is more severe and takes longer to heal.

Yes, with over 77,000 Doctors of Chiropractic in the U.S. and approximately 30,000,000 active chiropractic patients, the truth is in the numbers.

A recent Gallop pole shows the majority of chiropractic patients are satisfied with their results. Only a small minority (4%) were very unhappy with their treatment.

The alarming opioid epidemic in America is a clear example of the side effects to masking pain. The majority of these people started over-using medication to relieve back pain. Chiroprators offer a different method of treating pain that is effective and safe.

  • If you have been injured
  • If you experience neck or back pain
  • If you find it difficult to stand up straight
  • If you have headaches
  • If your shoulders are chronically tight
  • If you find your back or neck stiff when getting out of bed
  • If your spine is crooked or you have scoliosis
  • If your hips are not aligned, or one leg seems longer than the other
  • If you experience numbness and tingling in your arms or legs
  • If you notice you are shorter now than you were 10 years ago

Everyone can benefit from chiropractic care. The spine is one of the most important and complex parts of the body. We see dentists for our teeth, optometrists for our eyes, why shouldn't we take care of our spines?

This gentle, non invasive healing art is safe. Chiropractors enjoy the lowest malpractice insurance rates of all doctors due to the low rate of adverse side effects.

The initial visit begins with a review of your medical history and details of your injury, if injured. This is followed by a complete chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological examination. The doctor will then determine whether chiropractic care will benefit your condition or if a referral should be made to another specialist. Sometimes, you will be sent for films or more advanced imaging.

The first visit usually ends with some physical therapy.  Finally, a follow up appointment is made where an explanation of your condition is given by your doctor.

This will vary depending on your condition.  Many patients find instant relief following the first treatment, others take a while longer.  The vast majority of patients do find significant results within one month of treatment.

If your condition is chronic or irreversible damage has occurred to the vertebra, it will take time and the doctor will work with you to find the best course of action to manage your particular situation.

Almost every insurance plan covers chiropractic care including Medicare and Veterans. Currently there is no chiropractic coverage for Husky plans. chiropractic care.

A quick back test

It's Important To Know If Your Back Is Flexible

I have designed a test for you. It can tell quickly assess if you has enough curve, too much curve, or not enough.

First: Are You Forward?

Stand up against the wall, with your heels, pelvis, upper back and head all touching the wall. This should be very comfortable. If you have to force your head back, you need help.

Second: How is lumbar curve?

Without moving, slide your hand between your lower back and the wall. Keep your chin parallel to the floor.

If you can't get your hand in farther than your fingers, your back is too flat.

If your entire arm goes in, you have too much curve.

Third: Are You Flexible?

This time stand with your back and head flat against the wall. Move your feet away from the wall about 12" and about a shoulder width apart.

Lift both arms straight over your head. Elbows straight. Make sure not to elevate your chin.

This Is Not What To Do

If you can't perform this test without raising your chin up, or if it is painful, your back is not flexible enough. Any unusual movement or picking up some heavy object can throw your back out.

We can help improve this!

Poor Posture is by far

the most underrated health problem today

Hours sitting in front of your pc, or constantly looking at your phone, weakens your postural muscles. This sets you up for problems with you neck and back. Eventually this becomes your new normal. We can help you change this bad habit.
